Challenge

Create sixteen distinct screen environments for a live gymnastics performance, each with its own atmosphere and a place in the same visual journey.

Insight

Colour and rhythm can establish a mood immediately. They became the connection between the worlds on screen and the live acts in the arena.

The idea — Sixteen worlds, one spectrum

Give each act a colour-led world, moving from natural landscapes to digital environments. A shared approach to colour, rhythm and motion holds the sequence together.

From the organic pulse of the Amazon Forest to the cosmic stillness of Saturn’s rings, each hue shaped the atmosphere of a live act.

Art Direction

Yellow Sun radiated warmth and energy.
Red Fire erupted with danger and intensity.
Pink Sakura drifted in a calm spring breeze.
Deep Blue revealed the ocean’s depth.
Silver Code Line reflected the digital future.
Rainbow Ink, the final crescendo, celebrated diversity and transcendence.

Outcome

Sixteen audiovisual worlds on the Vidéotron screens of the Vaudoise Aréna, for two performances on 20 and 21 June 2025. Gymagine was the arena show of the Federal Gymnastics Festival, which brought around 65,000 gymnasts to Lausanne. The photographs below show the visuals in the live setting; the film brings the sequence together.
